Our task was to create three book jackets (a trilogy) using content from episodes of the podcast, Criminal by Phoebe Judge.
I wanted the book covers to represent each
story’s themes visually. There should be a sense
of mystery that was consistent through all three covers.
I’d like the reader to scan the cover from front to back and go: “Woah, what’s this about”?
I like to think of the solution as “foreshadowing.”
Each cover shows something that happens.
I placed enough design elements to give the reader
a glimpse into the book. Film and cinema were inspirations in this project.Think of the book cover jackets as screen grabs from a movie, hung as a
poster.
